Roma Gyaru co✰des analysis

Hello, hello again :D 2 posts in a day! YAHOOO!

The reason for this is because I don't have much free time and I wanted to do this post I promised to a gyarusa member I would do ages ago :') I am afraid she might have forgotten about it, too... BUT I HAVE NOT!

I don't know if I will make this a series where I take co✰des and analyze them to make easier for others to make similar co✰des for specific styles. I wanted to do Roma Gyaru because it is like a substyle of a substyle and some people (including me to be honest) can be confused by it. So, my friend pinterest had some pictures where I categorized them as Himekaji on one hand but also Roma Gal. If anyone more experienced can also comment on this post, I will be very glad because I hope I have not said anything wrong. My intent is to help others understand it a bit better not confuse further.

So let's begin shall we?

Firstly, because it can be confusing let's explain some key differences and similarities between Romantic Gyaru and Himekaji from my understanding.

Himekaji is a more toned down Hime Gyaru look that uses pinkier and/or brighter shades and white unlike Romantic Gal where you see more muted and earthly colors. You will probably see very similar cuts but in Roma Gyaru the feeling will be more romantic and dreamy whereas in Himekaji much more girly. II think this is the key difference to understand which substyle is which.

While I believe most Himekaji co✰des are very similar to Roma Gal and you can classify them as Himekaji, it is also its very own thing.

Today, I will analyze these co✰des:

Co✰de 1

The image analysis is not perfect but it is what it is :') let's analyze the picture from top to bottom.

✰Hair✰

You can see soft, wavy brown hair and bangs. It is a hairstyle that you can often see in Himekaji and Romantic Gyaru.

✰Make✰

You might not be able to see it clearly but the brows are not that harsh but are still light, the contouring is still there with the nose stripe and the blush is bright and pink, I believe an orange blush would also compliment that co✰de. Lips are also a nude color and have probably some kind of gloss. The only thing I can say about the eyes, the way I see it, is bold eyeliner and puppy eyes. This picture just doesn't give more information on the make up.

✰Outfit✰

Top: A knitted oversized jumper that is cream or beige in color and gives a very soft feeling and a fluffy white bag with a golden bow on it. Fluffy textures can be seen in many romantic gyaru co✰des and could be used to give that feeling of softness. Bows but not very big ones also give that girly romantic feeling ^_^ Oh! And there are some nice pink ribbons on the jumper that make it extra cute :D

Bottom: You cannot see it clearly but if you zoom in there is probably a white lacey pair of shorts/sukapan/skirt that ties it with the white fluffy bag. If it wasn't for this, probably the co✰de would not be as cohesive colorwise.

✰Shoes✰

These are some beige boots that are over the knee and cover the space between the legs and the skirt making the legs look slimmer and I believe longer. You could also use camel colored boots or brown, they would look really cute but they should be slim, I don't think platforms could give that romantic feeling.

✰ What I don't see✰

I don't see any jewelry or headwear but you could add them I believe but are not necessary as you can see to make a soft, casual romantic gyaru co✰de! I also don't see very glamorous, long nails either!

Co✰de 2

Now, these are two co✰des but they are very similar!

✰Hair✰

As you can see, both hairstyles include wavy hair and they are a light brown to blonde color. Braids are also not a bad idea as they add that cutesy touch!

✰Make✰

The make is also very gyaru basic, with a nice blush that is a bit orange-y, light brows, the contouring is very light but I can assure you it is still there. You can also spot circle lenses but they are more toned down and natural looking colors as well as the lashes are softer and not very bold. And lastly, puppy eyeliner (I mean that the eyeliner points slightly downwards) with a soft gloss.

✰Outfit✰

They both wear off shoulder, one pieces that are muted florals (more like liz lisa) and have lace on. Muted lacey floral one pieces work lovely for romantic gyaru especially if the cut is shorter :D

✰Accessories✰

You can see pearl-like necklaces, one also has a golden heart that looks super romantic, A nice big bracelet with lace details and a big white belt that gives the waist a more tied together look!

✰Nails✰

I can see that the nails on one model are short and well trimmed probably either a light pink color or a french manicure but the picture is not very clear either. Sadly, all of the pictures are not the clearest.

✰What I don't see✰

I can't see the shoes or a bag or any hair accessories.

✰Suggestions✰

What would work would be brown or beige sandals with some lacey or pearly details. I wouldn't say a closed shoe with frilly socks because it would take the summery feel away from these co✰des. As well as, a strawlike bag with lacey details like a picnic basket :D I don't know, would you like that?

Co✰de 3

Another picture with two models on it that are very similar :D This looks like a more western romantic style :D

✰Hair✰

As you can see waves and curls on hair is pretty common as well as light brown to blonde hair. You can also see that other than hair that are let down, there are also cute updos and you can also wear your hair shoulder length instead of long :D

✰Make✰

Light eyebrows, natural colored circle lenses, bold eyeliner, natural eyelashes, light contouring and orange blush and nude gloss :D

✰Outfits✰

One is a halterneck top with frills at the bottom and the other is an off shoulder oversized blouse and a lightwashed close to denim color skirt or sukapan. They both have floral details, a bit brighter than the previous ones but still not as bright as other hime gyaru or himekaji co✰des and both have lacey details. As you can see floral patterns and lace play an important role into making the outfit read more romantic :D and the skirt/sukapan makes the co✰de be more light and airy and gives it a slighty different silhouette, not a straight one but more of an a-line? I don't know how to describe it better!

✰Accessories✰

Cowbow hat that makes the coord look more western, pearly necklaces that make it look more romantic, a bracelet that is big like the previous one and one more toned down and looks like it is made out of white strings?

✰Nails✰

The nails are not overly done here, either. They are quite natural but well trimmed :D

✰What I don't see✰

I don't see shoes or a bag here but there is a headwear!

✰Suggestions✰

I would add a brown pu leather backpack of some sort sandals or over the knee brown cowboy boots for that extra western look! If we didn't go for a more western look I'd probably add a flower crown or flower clips on the hair as it would make them more cutesy!

Co✰de 4

This is more of an autumnal or wintery look? So let's analyze it :D

✰Hair✰

The hair again is light brown to blonde and wavy and one of them is a lovely updo! ✰Make✰

Light brows, top lashes but not bottom, natural looking circle lenses, not very puppy like eyes but they look big! And a rosy-er blush! Very natural looking but still reads gal!

✰Outfit✰

Top: They both wear off shoulder tops, one is tartan which looks really cute in gyaru, the other is white with a creamy diamond pattern if you notice the picture more closely. They both look cute and oversized!

Bottom: Frilly or lacey bottoms be it a skirt or a sukapan or shorts! In the previous co✰de we might have seen a very close to denim skirt BUT it was a bit frilly to give out that silhouette, it looked western but still read romantic.

✰Accessories✰

A nice white beret that gives off the feeling that the lady is not only cute but has an air of sophistication as well!

✰Shoes✰

A pair of over the knee boots that I personally, would prefer them in a much lighter color, like brown as I believe they would tie the outfit together a bit morel; and a pair of cream over the knee heeled boots that look lovely with that specific outfit!

✰What I don't see✰

I don't see bags yet again or deco nails.

✰Suggestions✰

I would probably have added a bag more like a satchel in brown or cream colors or a fluffy handbag with a bow like the first bag we saw! I believe it would make the outfit a lot better!

✰Last thoughts on Romantic Gyaru✰

Just from 4 quick pictures I saw on Pinterest, I deduct that the key points to a more romantic gyaru outfit include:

✰ Light brown to blonde hair, wavy or curly

✰ minimal make but with lots of blush that you can see even in lower analysis pictures!

✰ natural circle lenses for a dolly and cute effect

✰ muted colors, beiges, creams, florals and tartan

✰ soft fluffy textures, lace and airy fabrics and frills

✰ western themes included but more toned down

✰ long over the knee boots, usually but not necessarily with heels

✰ minimal accessories

✰ where are the bags?!

Maybe I should have added himekaji pictures for a comparison, maybe a make up analysis of Romantic Gyaru (I am not great at analyzing make up, just the key points I pointed out here) but probably I will do it in the next post :D I will try finding better quality pictures next time, though haha :D
